I LOVE turmeric!!!
I have been using Golden Paste on my fur babies for about the last 3 years…..& they just enjoy it in their dinner each night. My Rotti “Jax”, had occasionally walked like she’s in a bit of pain in her back legs & I really wanted to nip it in the bud before she had real problems. So I started her on the Golden Paste daily…..along with fish oils to ease the inflammation & reduce any pain.
And I truly believe it works. Not only does it help with pain & inflammation….but turmeric also helps the immune system & supports the liver – plus is a fantastic antioxidant. Both of my pups coats are amazing….& they just keep going from strength to strength.
- 1/2C organic turmeric powder
- 1C water (extra if needed)
- 1/3C oil (try coconut, extra virgin olive, or flax/linseed oil)
- 2-3tsp black pepper (freshly ground)
- 10-20g organic Ceylon Cinnamon (optional to help reduce dogs urine smelling like “cat pee”)
- Bring the turmeric & water to a boil, then lower the heat & simmer until you have a thick paste. This should take about 7-10 minutes & you may need to add additional water along the way.
- Add the freshly ground pepper & oil at the end of cooking, when the turmeric & water mixture has cooled down to just warm. Add in the cinnamon if desired. Stir well to incorporate the oil & allow to cool.
The Golden Paste will keep for 2 weeks, refrigerated.
Freeze a portion if you think you have too much to use within two weeks. You can find small 1/4-1/2tsp molds to use for this if you prefer.
Add it to your pet’s dinner plate or your horse feed … run wild! You can even use for Golden Milk, Smoothies, stir into Yogurt, add to your dinner plate as a condiment… it’s just as good for you too!

How is it our lives get soo busy….
Catching up with family & friends over the last 2 weeks back in Perth, has allowed me to reflect on how our lives sometimes move forward slowly & at other times…life seems to jump ahead. It seems some people are at that ‘constant stage’ – daily routine, lots of running around for kids, work…with a little bit thrown in for them. Others have something new happening every other month. We all move at different paces…at different stages of our life. Hence…when we compare ourselves to another we can sometimes feel we ‘have been left behind’. Please remember – we really can’t compare…we just are where we ‘are’ at this point in time.
My main focus of my trip was to spend time with my grandparents – my Nan is in a home as she has dementia. Unfortunately she has regressed quickly within a year ago from when I last saw her…though she seems to recognise my voice?! LOL! Norma introduced me to natural health when I was a little girl – we’d make pot pourri, soaps, & ‘smelly’ gifts with her essential oils. On my last visit with my dad & grandpa I took along a small heart shaped pouch filled with her pot pourri she’d made probably 30 years ago. I encouraged her to smell it…hoping her memories would come flooding back to her. I can only hope she sensed the familiarity….
My Grandpa is a lovely old man…yes he’s lost a lot of weight & is frail, but he is still sharp as a tack with a great sense of humour & much to my amazement doesn’t even have a carer looking after him at his own home. My aspiration is to live as long as his active life. Yes he’s on some medications…but who isn’t at nearly 94 years old. He still takes his fish oil, magnesium etc …& a glass of wine at dinner. He’s recently been put on oxygen overnight & when needed – but he’s still very independent, & texts me often. He has nature at his doorstep with birds visiting each day & he loves his beautiful garden. He says he feels his time is done…now is his time to share stories of his life – with so many tales to tell.
Life…it goes round in circles. Changing from one stage, to the next. Life to me is for living a full & happy life – not just existing day to day.
Yes….we all choose our own paths, now…make the most of each beautiful step you take.
Ever since 1990 when Salt ‘n’ Pepa brought this song out, it seems it’s been a little easier to talk about sex – whether with our friends, siblings or partners.
Who went to the “I Love the 90’s” concert???!!
Check out the video below…..
Lets Talk About Sex Video (‘old school’)
Whilst I see many fertility couples…where sometimes intimacy can become just about ‘timing to make a baby’…it’s also a healthy part of your relationship.
It seems from recent research in the ‘Journal of Personality & Social Psychology’ there are generally two types of couples when it comes to intimacy satisfaction.
There are those who believe in ‘sexual destiny’ where once they find their soulmate, sexual satisfaction will just happen. Then there are those that believe in ‘sexual growth’ & work on their mutual satisfaction.
Both heterosexual & same-sex couples were interviewed, & it seems there’s a common 2-3 year ‘honeymoon’ phase where both ‘destiny’ & ‘growth’ believers have high sexual satisfaction.
However, as the relationship begins to ebb & flow, it seems the ‘growth’ couples have happier times. They are less stagnant in their relationship & talk about what they really like with each other.
So it seems…just like any type of relationship…we really just need to be honest with what we’re feeling to get the most out of it. 😉
