There are amazing nutrient rich foods which you can use to create the ‘perfect mood’ smoothie.
These can help reduce inflammation, balance blood sugars and help to produce serotonin and tryptophan….it all begins in the gut.
Ingredients for 2 smoothies:
- 1/4 avocado (‘good fats’, magnesium, potassium, folate, fibre, antioxidants)
- 1/2 banana (tryptophan, B6, potassium, fibre, magnesium)
- 1/2tsp cinnamon (blood sugar regulation, gut supportive)
- 1/3tsp turmeric (anti-inflammatory, immune supportive – iron, potassium, phosphorus)
- 1Tbsp cacao powder (polyphenols, magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium, manganese, zinc, serotonin, tryptophan)
- 1/4C oats (prebiotic, nervous system support)
- 1-2 Tbsp Greek yoghurt (probiotics to improve gut health, calcium, magnesium, protein)
- 1Tbsp flaxseed/LSA (magnesium, zinc, omega 3, protein)
- handful spinach ( iron, folate, calcium, vit A, C + K1)
- 1.5-2C water/soy/nut milk of choice
- Honey if desired
Place oats into blender and grind until fine.
Then add remaining ingredients into blender + blend to desired consistency.
Enjoy over ice if desired.
