Mid-March I was honoured to speak at the NT Cattlemen’s Associations Ladies Lunch at the Mindil Beach Casino – a room filled to the brim…the largest they’d ever had at 260 strong, resilient rural women. Many who were navigating their own flood affected challenges…it felt almost ironic to be talking about ‘building resilience’ when these women embody it every single day….they are the backbone of our country.
My hope was that each woman could walk away with some deeper understanding of how chronic stress shapes our hormones through every life-stage and more importantly, take away some simple practical tools to support their wellbeing and thrive. Each lady received a beautiful gift bags of goodies from the stall holders…organic herbal tea gifted from me.
Having served the Katherine and outer regions for well over a decade now, I had the opportunity to reconnect with some long-lost patients, and I also found out the web that has been woven when community share their lives with each other….and the ripple effect being passed onto them and ultimately me. I am so honoured to share this work and connect with such extraordinary women.
These opportunities invite me to grow in new directions—building meaningful connections that open the door to future collaborations. While I deeply value the 1:1 consultations and the shared experience of workshops…stepping onto a stage asks something more of me. It calls me to lean into vulnerability, to be seen, and to use my voice in a way that reaches beyond the room—something I continue to embrace as part of my own journey.
To celebrate the day, I also gifted a 1hr Reflexology appointment to be enjoyed by one lucky lady…can’t wait to provide that support to her!
