No-one likes staring at the ceiling at 2:30 am, unable to sleep. Difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep &/or waking un-refreshed can be some people’s reality.

Research shows that adults who get fewer than seven hours of sleep a night experience daytime consequences such as irritability, fatigue, & poor memory. Sleep problems not only has detrimental effects on your work life, relationships & wellbeing, but also increases the risk of ongoing health problems.

Sleep enhancing tips:

  • Reduce or eliminate stimulants (i.e. caffeine & sugar), but try some Dreamtime or chamomile herbal tea;
  • Go to bed at the same time each night;
  • Create a dark, cool sleeping environment;
  • Invest in a comfortable mattress & bedding;
  • Limit alcohol consumption;
  • Practice relaxation exercises, or read a book in bed;
  • Reduce screen time an hour before bed, i.e. phones, computers or TV.
  • Find a meditation app that helps you relax;
  • Try a few drops of lavender essential oil on your pillow slip;
  • Get regular exercise.
