Well it’s that time of year when we’re grabbing something from the shops for mum again – Mother’s Day, May 12.
How many of us actually stop & take a few minutes to reflect on what our mums really mean to us??? This should be our main focus for this day – not the present we give, but either spending time with them (in person…or on the phone as many of us up here do!?). Even if they have left this Earth….reflect on how they influenced your life.
Our mums have brought us into this world….giving full potential to our life…..to live, love & learn to the best of our abilities. Whether we speak/see them regularly or not; “have a good relationship” with them or not….we owe them thanks for giving us this potential.
I would like to thank my mum for bringing us up mostly as a single parent – & still making us feel that we never really missed out on anything at all…for being there when I needed her….for putting up with me as a rebellious teenager….for helping me make decisions & supporting my choices (even if she secretly thought it was a “bad ” idea)….for letting me learn from my own mistakes….& encouraging me to follow my dreams, always.
Thank you for letting me GROW!
Throughout our lives we come across many other “mothers”…..who influence us in other ways. These may be your grandmothers, aunties, friends of the family, friends & mother in-laws. These people help shape our lives….& we often don’t realise it’s even happening. So I would like to say thank you to all the women who influence my life….& that includes you – my clients.
