We all like to have nibbles out when we have guests around. Often some home-made guacamole or tzatziki dips with rice crackers & vegie sticks, some olives, dolmades, sun/oven dried tomatoes & a variety of cheeses, with a scattering of nuts. Why not try these home-made varieties that all your guests are sure to love!

Wasabi or Spicy Chickpeas

400g can cooked or dry chickpeas (Dry – bring to rolling boil for 2-3mins, sit for 1hr, drain & add fresh water, bring to boil again & simmer for 1-2hrs)

1 tsp sesame or coconut oil

1 Tbsp wasabi powder (or more if you like!…or any other spice combinations such as cumin, paprika, cayenne, curry, cinnamon & even rosemary or thyme)

1/2 tsp Himalayan Pink sea salt (contains over 80 minerals found within the body, providing numerous health benefits)

2 Tbsp black sesame seeds

  • make sure chickpeas have been rinsed, drained & dried thoroughly to ensure they crisp up nicely.
  • combine all ingredients into ziplock bag & shake.
  • spread all onto baking tray & into oven for 1-2hrs at 180ºC, till crunchy – stir with tongs occasionally.
  • cool before enjoying with friends!
