A lot of my patients come in with feeling like they ‘flick a switch’ & they become irritable & snappy easily. Does this sound like you??? Insulin resistance may also be a concern for you if you’re having fertility struggles.

Time to welcome in protein into your diet. Not only is it needed to build muscle, supports the immune system & assists satiety…but it also breaks down into the amino acid tryptophan. Tryptophan combines with B vitamins to make serotonin – which is the ‘feel good/happy’ hormone. When you eat too many sugars as poor quality carbs, then you don’t eat good foods containing B vitamins & tryptophan.

A “sugar hit” treat gives you a short term release of dopamine…but your body can become addicted to this feeling & you just want more & more. Become the ‘label detective’ to find those hidden sugars – fructose, lactose, maltose, agave, cane sugar, corn syrup, barley malt & date sugar to name a few.
Time to check out where those hidden sugars are lurking & rebalance…& don’t consume processed foods containing more than 5g of sugar per 100g. Remember, eating x2 slices of some breads can actually contain more than 2 tablespoon of sugar?!

Simple really…reduce packaged, processed foods & eat REAL wholefoods.
You can also try my ‘Metabo’ or ‘Balance Me’ tisanes for a sweet treat instead – they contain cinnamon & licorice respectively.
